Angry Polluters of personal space

This has probably already been mentioned on one of the previous pages

That being just how annoying people who seem unaware of the need for personal hygiene, obviously have no sense of smell and must work in a sewer as a used nappy juggler or something ARE !. This morning it happened yet again and i found myself a nose width from a right stinky basturd , as if it wasnt bad enough that i was in a crummy overpriced far too bright supermarket full of mean faced pushy sods whod gut you with a discounted carving knife soon as look at you !.

No, i also need to hold my breath and find somewhere to vomit as Captain piss-pants drifts over to the frozen food section and stands next to yours truly blanketing me in a shroud of fermented shite and biological grade body odour !

Course i immediately backed away from the lanky haired young cess pit ,clutching a bag of oven chips over my mouth as a sort of makeshift gas mask .But it was no good id been tainted and all that was left for me to do was start a fire in the outdoor section with the aid of some BBQ brickets and burn all my clothes , then run to the cleaning products area and smother every inch of my skin in detox , before shaving my head with that thing they use to read bar codes ! .

Not surprising i tend to use the home delivery method now eh

Telling you the death penalty is too merciful for such poisonous sods

I know what you mean GreenSkull, I was stood in a baker's behind some old guy who smelled like he had pissed his pants in 1983 and hadn't got round to changing them yet. Even the flies kept away from him.

Actually I find it pointless and immature to be offended by trivialities.
Why stress yourself on another person's hygiene or bad driving - when within 24 hours 9,000 children will die of hunger on this planet.

That is worth getting upset about.

This is true but misses a point about human nature. We don't see the world panoramically: we see (and smell) what is shoved into our faces. We know from the news that the world is rotten, and it does trouble us, but since we seldom have a chance to improve it, we defend ourselves by not obsessing over things which are beyond our control.

Also, don't you find its the small things which often freak you out more? To quote Jean Webster:

''Anybody can rise to a crisis and face a crushing tragedy with courage, but to meet the petty hazards of the day with a laugh - I really think that that requires spirit.''

Indeed it is snape, but the smaller issues are, quite simply annoying which is the thrust of this thread. You may believe they are pointless and immature but they are issues that we actually come across regularly and could be put right quickly if people just cared more about how their behaviour affected other people. That is what makes them so annoying and trust me a complete lack of personal hygiene is not a triviality in a confined space.
The global issues you refer to are way beyond merely being annoying but sadly no matter what we think many of those who hold the reins of power benefit from maintaining the status quo which is why Africa is still as firmly in the mire so many years after the original Live Aid concerts. How ironic that Quo actually opened the set that day.

Default Rushing to judgement.

I see on the BBC that there were ''angry scenes outside the courtroom'' when Vanessa George, the accused person in the Plymouth nursery paedophilia story, was arraigned this morning.

Now these charges are really serious and you have to think that the case is probably very strong because charges are being brought so quickly. The parents of the children who attend the Little Teds nursery must be choking with utter fury. But it always depresses me when people act as though the accused had been tried and sentenced already and his/her side of the story hasn't even been heard yet. It's the classic pre-requisite for every gross miscarraige of justice I've ever heard of.

On a slightly lighter note, when Jonathan King (total nonce, guilty as hell) was being tried, I had a conversation with a biker chum which went a bit like this:

Chum: He's a f**K**g nonce! I hope they cut his balls off.
scoundrel: Hold on! He hasn't even been tried yet!
Chum: Yeah, but anyone can tell he's guilty. Just look at him. What a nonce!
scoundrel: But come on! What about evidence? Charges? Witnesses? You can't bang someone up in prison just because he looks like a nonce!
Chum: Well...I suppose. Can't just bang him up for what he looks like. Fair doos. We'd better let him have a trial... see what he has to say for himself.

Pause.

Chum: But you can tell he's a nonce though, just by looking at him!
scoundrel: True...
